'Tis the PARTY Season

PARTY TIME, LETS SHINE!

We can hardly believe that Christmas is only 10 weeks away, and that the biggest party season of the year is now here.
October through December sees many special occasions that demand your finest attire and there are plenty of reasons to dress up.
From end of school celebrations to glamorous Christmas parties and of course Christmas Day itself, it’s time to dress up and embrace the joy of the festive season.

End of year School events

The end of the school year marks an array of special occasion events ranging from formals to valedictorian lunches and graduation ceremonies. We’ve put together the key events and what to wear to ensure you feel confident and amazing whilst celebrating these wonderful achievements.

School Formals

Many schools will have an opportunity for parents to be involved in the end of year formals with a pre-dinner reception. The students will be taking most of the attention here in their splendid gowns
and suits, however these family photos will last a lifetime, so you want to
make sure you look the part also. Check the invite for a specific dress code, and if it’s not mentioned then opt for a cocktail style dress or jumpsuit that won’t compete with the gowns.

End of year concerts

The end of year concerts are a big part of the season and a lot of the parents will dress to impress at these events. Most of the Performing Arts sectors will hold an end of year concert to showcase the work and progress throughout the year. A lot of parents will opt for darker colours for these events, however, don’t be afraid to add a little colour and texture with a sophisticated style. Keep outfits school appropriate and avoid cut outs or midriffs.

Graduation Ceremonies

Seeing your children graduate is a big moment for any parent and a milestone moment. Whilst joining in these celebrations, you’ll want to look and feel confident whilst also looking amazing for the lasting photos. Graduation outfits call for more formal than your jeans, but not as dressy as cocktail attire that you would wear to a wedding. Business to semi formal attire will mean that you look professional and polished and not over the top for a school-based event. Floral prints never fail and are easy to match back with accessories.

CHRISTMAS PARTIES

Christmas parties come in the form of both work and personal and the best attire can slightly vary between between the two. We've put together a guide below to help you choose the best outfit for your festive party.

Work Christmas Party

Choosing a work Christmas party outfit can feel tricky as you want it to be appropriate but more elevated than the everyday work attire. You might want to keep a professional aesthetic with your clothing but have fun with bold colours and textures. A conservative style mixed with sequins, or a bold print is the easiest way to show personality and flair whilst keeping it professional for a work environment.

CHRISTMAS PARTIES WITH FRIENDS

For a Christmas party with friends pretty much anything goes. Check your invitation for any themes or dress codes, if not mentioned then pick your outfit based on time of day and location. If its an evening
soiree at a bar then you might opt for cocktail outfits in festive red or greens, whilst lunches and casual dinners can get away with more relaxed styles and accessories.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas Day

Christmas day is all about looking great and feeling comfortable as you need something you can happily eat in, but that might also get you through multiple events.

Host with the Most

If you're this year's host and find yourself in the kitchen cooking, then you'll want something fabulous yet extra comfortable that you can easily move in. Think easy jersey dresses that will stretch and move with ease but with vibrant festive prints and colours to still give that wow factor.

Guest with the Best

If you find yourself attending a festive celebration instead then have a little fun with your outfit. Think beautiful colour and easy relaxed styles, after all no one wants a restrictive dress when seconds (or thirds) might be in order. Pair easy statement styles back with wedge heels or dressy flats to complete the look and add jewelled earrings and headbands for extra festive flair.
